Mlolongo is one of the busiest towns around. Though relatively small, the town has grown very fast recently with many factories in the vicinity, settlements (low and medium income) and Accomodation facilities catering for the Road haulage business from Mombasa. Am shocked that none of the banks have found it worthwhile to put up branch there..hata kina Equity There is a lot of cash changing hands in Mlolongo daily

Was also thinking the same. Have some family interests in Mlolongo, but have always wondered why there is no bank there! Its developing fast, but some planning needed...

@vvs as much as i agree with you on issue of linkage i don't think it counts in this one...after all it's not far away from athi river and kitengela.. there must be other factors...

...BankS usually copy each other like fools. At one point there was no single bank in Nairobi West. Then Cooperative opened an ATM there. The rest of the banks followed. As soon as one bank establishes itself in Mlolongo, others will follw. There is already a KCB ATM at hotel Connection...

Like Veteran said,banks copy each other,but there must be a reason why they are all staying away. Not sure about the security,but a couple of them are planning to put up ATMs there, to test the waters. Most figure out that Athi River & Kitengela are close enough for customers from Mlolongo. Issues to consider:-cost of CAPEX, Security, Nature of business,(bars dont count much), economic growth...etc. So I guess we watch the space.....
