Shouldn't the Big 5 invite DRC to EAC and then do a 'King Leopord' on it? The deposits are just under double the US GDP.

That would be like trying to snatch a mistress to a powerful rich personality, you would soon realize that she is not worth the effort and troubles irrespective of her beauty.

I thought TZ's vision is to create a parallel force away from the Coalition of the Willing(COW) trio of Kenya, Uganda and RWanda

Burundi seems to be independent of the intra EAC fights but they are dependent on Tanzania and would most likely fall on TZ side.

So would DRC. Kabila si rafiki ya Kagame. Both Rwanda and Uganda have been accused of funding militia in eastern DRC and looting esp during the second congo war

Some time back, a Tz foreign affairs official told me that EAC is the only serious economic bloc in Africa. Hizo zingine ni jina tu

That amount is conservative by any means if you factor in DRC's potential in
agric, energy and other resources away from minerals.
One project i wish to see come true in my lifetime is the Grand Inga
hydro. The dam is capable of 40,000MWs.Enough cheap power for every
household in SS Africa!!
Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.
