On NTV. It's a real tragedy. Seems the kipsigis have grabbed the whole forest from the masai. Seems like a free for all where you grab as much forest land as you can.

I'll tell you for free... Why do you think M01 govt dished out this forest and stood watching people invaded it? It was a me as means to settle the Tugen people from the harsh Mogotio semi-arid land. Now, that one community couldn't be shipped here leaving out the others. So what is the plan? Dish thing out to everybody, including themselves - them politicians, m01 akiwa ndani!!!

Go to Transmara abnd see it for yourself. There are fake Maasais, originally Tugen settled there, Mara land was carved out in the 80s. Now adopted Maasai language, culture, and dresscode! but when they're alone, they switch to their own language.

In short, this Mau disease in deeper than many wenyenchi will ever know Pray

The mau issue is a sad scenario of a mafiosi president, who had no regard to the rule of law. when I see kina moses kuria thanking him, I shudder.

He once visited a school near our home and said the school should be expanded yet there was no free government land near the school. we were thrown out of our homes and upto now we are still fighting for our ka plot. We were homeless within a month. My dad God rest his soul could not take it. That MO1 for you.

All said and done, what is the role of Govt today!

Lamenting about the past wont get us out of the rut!

Is something being done!

Just as absolute power corrupts leaders, so does absolute fanaticism blind the people from logic

Ideal solution: revoke all grabbed lands, relocate those who were misled by 'govt' to sell their original land and go buy the new allocated lands.

But!!

I don't see this government doing anything about it. Why? Because there is conflict of interest. I hope I don't need to explain this. Picture this: how far back in history will the government go in evicting illegal occupation? What about the grabbed lands? In the recent past, in the time of Kibs, in the time of M01, in the time of Mzee Jomo... How far? d'oh! d'oh!

my 2 cents.... did gava do an illegal thing? No... the president had powers to gazette and degazette land as he wishes. did he do what was 'right'... it depends on who you ask. the maa people need to accept something...ownership ni title! this nonsense of mababu zetu if faulty logic as your babu displaced someone by the sword ama you think land was just idle? land is a resource.
