1) Identify a company

2) I dentify the car you want to buy

Once the above is done agree on a price,they will send you an invoice.TT your money to their bank account.Send them a copy of the TT by fax.Once a vessel is ready to leave to the port of Mombasa you will get informed.It takes a month for your car to arrive.

Try www.tradecarview.com.Thank you

newbie

Well ww.tradecarview is a directory of sellers. Some inside there are genuine and some are not. So if you dont know the track record of a company dont send a TT

Try Nikkyo,sb-trading,janstrading,kobemotors,kcc-autos,GCT,ibc,papera etc. Also make sure u know the rules around importing cars before u choose one.

Choose a car (8 year limit) so 2002 and a good month also. Also check the vehicle grade and condition.

Happy hunting

Guys who have been importing from tradecarview have their contacts in the company who confirm to them the availability of a car and the genuineness of the seller. Else u could be TTing your hard earned cash to a chap next to you right now.

@Stra,
The reason as to why I for one asked whether some of the listed companies in Trade CarView are genuine is coz i know one or two people here in SK have dealt with some of these companies. And maybe they have info on which co. is genuine or not. That's all what we are asking. Am sorry to say that your post is kinda not helpful!

Hi,Trust are genuine . Their customer care is superior. Shipping within one week of payment. Car arrives after 30 days. Have dealt with them for a year now.

Infact the buggers who are likely to scr*w you are some local dealers and some of their cousins in the clearing.

Do not use consolidation chaps who fall under an umbrella website. Once i made an enquiry at [edit]and the fellow who returned the call used a +255 prefix tel.

Use the direct exporter. The trouble with [edit] is fiddling with mileage this is even reflected in the JEVIC !!! but the chaps are the best in pricing and as for customer care,well,well...

and while at it do NOT cut corners with KRA,if you know what i mean.

@Kwanini aka Captain. 1. Do you clear your vehicles by thyself? 2. Would u recommend importing and selling vehicles as a side biz? Holla me at Gemmb_06@yahoo.com

Very good side bussiness.

But you need to know what you are doing and know what cars are selling. Apart from that = very good returns

Try .www.ibcjapan.co.jp. 3 of every 10 imports in Kenya are like;y to be from them. I imported a newshape premio and they sell good grades,fast shipment and the best customer service in the world. Papera also sell many cars but i dont think they can beat ibcjapan in terms of quality and variety and sercice i have no experience about them. Though be aware of Nigerian style companies styled in japanese names and with extremely good prices

Well a 1.5 2002 runx will have a duty of about 230K then u add registration,Shipping line,IDF,clearing agent ++++ to approx 275K.

But make sure the month of registration falls from Jan to Current month eg right now you can only import upto 2002 April for that duty.

@ moran,Papera is also a very good company hand have been in the biashara longer than IBC. But both give quite good quality.

@Dexco: if it was registered after April 02,then i pay higher duties i.e. depreciation is 60% instead of 70%. Is my understanding correct?

@bashka. Well said. Ladies car. So that means the market is smaller than the 'mass market car'. About demand yes there was demand late last year but for this year i think the car has slowed down. but i stand to be corrected.

@jaykay about duty cost beyond April ull pay a year 2003 car duty if u dont know ur way around and thats an extra 100K.
