let me ask! how do you get job offers that you did not apply for? I remember a story of a CU guy in college who said that EABL sent him job offers and he refused! the devil was tempting him! I asked myself - how did EABL know that the chap existed?

Two comments, to the story stood out

This is what going to school is all about.....its not about preparing you for a job, but to prepare you mentally for life

This statement is Genius! “Kenya can sustain a double digit economic growth if agriculture is made a compulsory subject up to Form Four to make the youth stop their obsession with white collar jobs.”

Some organisations when looking out to employ fresh graduates go to Universities and speak to the administration to get them the top students in a particular field. That way you are offerred jobs you did not apply for.

I was offered a job I had not applied for too........but do I say!

Excellent article.

Like Swenani has said you can never go wrong in farming coz we must all eat.

We need more of such articles. Going to university should just give you exposure - so think big. Don't come out here begging to be employed. You have the brains to start a fire. Nice article.

Maybe what we need to do about the perpetual strikes about salary increments, is to send home the striking workers... thus converting them from employees to employers. Force people to start thinking.

And give the opportunities to young fresh graduates (those who'd have it), for initial work experience and a chance to accumulate capital... and then kick them out too

It is absolute rubbish and arrogance. A lot of people like to talk big in order to highlight their story.
