Former president Kibaki appeared in court as a witness and asked to be allowed to testify first because he is old and is a former president. The judge Antony Ombwayo reminded him that we are all equal under the constitution and therefore denied him his request. Kibaki said, "sawa tu."

And the judge should also remember that he is also getting there, one day he will ask the same and will get the same answer

Which mzigo?

Isn't he a witness? Has he sought to be exempted from appearing in court? NO!!

His plea to the court should have been granted esp if there are no other wazees of his age as his witnesses.

I could be wrong but the judge could just be asserting himself

This judge is plain silly and insensitive...he does not seem to know that it is not wise to keep an old man/woman (an octagenarian for that matter!!!) and pregnant women in long queues in any place...

Yes we all know Kibaki needs to testify, but he made a humble request not to be kept on the queue for long...Is there anything that would prevent the granting of this request? The answer is simply nothing!!
...besides, the presence of a safe alone does not signify that there is money inside...

it is not far fetched to imagine that the judge wanted to feel good by embarrassing the old man.

Next we could hear that he wants the mzee to sit with the rest of the members of the public squeezed up in the courtroom
