It will not be practicalfor all registered voters to vote for the six candidates and finish the exercise on Day 1 (Even assuming 70% Turnout on average). IEBC Says they have 33,000 polling stations nationally and on average over 400 voters per station. We know Some high Octane areas like Nairobi, Nakuru, Meru, Kiambu , Kisii, Kakamega etc have more than 400 voters per polling station.

Assuming 7.5 minutes per voter per polling booth, Only 100 voters could vote in one booth over a 12-hour period

The views of the experts should be taken seriously.

Why are you assuming that there will only be one voting stream per polling station. Some high-density polling stations have more than 10 streams!

It is the timing of this announcement that is critical. It may be interpreted differently depending when announced.

Now the west (read Mzungu) has become an expert. That is where PO will become managers. there are polling stations, polling streams and polling booths. the first two are pre-determined, the last can be increased.

Elections are to held on 4th March 2013.

With 33000 polling stations, IEBC would require 198000 polling clerks. This figure doesn't consider polling stations with more than one stream.
They are also planning to reduce, but from 9 to 7 per polling station but I doubt they hired the 198000

That so-called ex-pert is making conclusions without complete information! If he doesn't know the average number of booths per polling station, what sort of "expert" is he?
