– Sudan has now ordered Kenya’s ambassador to leave the country after a Kenyan judge issued an arrest warrant for President Omar al-Bashir

This ruling by Ombija is a testimony that our judiciary is truly becoming independent thanks to the new constitution that Bashir himself came to witness the promulgation. Sad for him he did not know he would be a victim of the widening democratic space following the promulgation of the new constitution!
That said Khartoum has more to lose than Kenya following the turn of events. Their hope to seek solace from arab spring by joining East Africa community is now gone with the wind

Dont they differentiate between an independent Judiciary and the Executive.May be they should have waited for the Executives reaction to the ruling before reacting.So is sudan n Bashir one and the same thing?reminds me of the moi days where the president is the country and any affront to him is to the country.Huh. The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

This is not very good and especially because there are a number of Kenyan's working with NGO's in Sudan and also Kenya's role in the Sudan - South Sudan Peace process. Of course Sudan has reacted in an unwise manner but this might also be an excuse. May be it is an excuse to ignore the CPA.

That was a very stupid judgement by that crazy judge. Destabilizing the region and creating enemity with our neighbours wont do us any good. Sudan can as well finance al shebab. A war with alshebab raging, a diplomatic spat with eritrea, a boundary dispute with Ug, a suspicious Tz, this to me, was one stupid move by Ominja. Nkt! TULIA.........UFUNZWE!

The Kenyan judiciary wanted to be seen independent but their ruling did not factor the bilateral relationships between the two countries which are more important that Bashir and ICC. Some rulings especially when sponsored by activists are not done for the good of this country. Just after KQ was enjoying twice daily flights to Khartoum,the judge is here to destroy the gains.NKT with our sycophancy !!! Useless Judiciary !! So did Ombija know in advance that his ruling would make Sudan cut ties? No. I think the Sudanese are the ones who over reacted …even though Kenya is hated by all her neighbors, this does not mean that we sacrifice our values for the sake of meager business opportunities with countries who only laugh with us during the day.

Kenya was instrumental in ensuring the independence of the South Sudan. Bashir was the necessary Devil. However much the law says there is the other side of the coin. Now the relations between the Nort and the south may be and will be definately affected. To the North, Kenya waited until the independence of the South to Issue the warrant. The south relies on the northern Sudan for refining of their Crude Oil. They arent out of the woods yet. "Never regret, if its good, its wonderful. If its bad, its experience."

the flipside of this is that Sudan starts sponsoring Al Shabab! then we are in trouble. this thing has implications beyond a simple "human rights" issue...ask yourself what we strive to gain from this...and what we strive to lose... All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!
