The nine security officers arrived on the island Friday afternoon, bringing the number of Ugandan security officers to 30.

"They arrived in a motor boat armed with heavy weapons that included rocket launchers," Paul Odhiambo told The Standard On Saturday.

l was telling my friend the other day, that l did not sense the conviction, the belief behind MK's words when he read about the two islands being in Kenya... it's like he read it just coz it was there in his speech. And now it seems M7 realised that too and is staying put!!!

I am at sea as to why Museveni is acting the way he is.

Why would he want to treat us this way anyway!

@B Timer, M7 has serious issues at home. A spat with Kenya would be godsend. It would just divert attention from his troubles and hopefully unite Ugandans against something...

I think this thing is working for both of them. i think there is consensus on their part on this issue.... it doesn't make sense any other way, i believe we're being played, to what end ... i have no idea.

Kenya is a walk over.... we just sit there and wait for people to walk all over us.... otherwise, how do you explain the Turkana people, karamanjong, the mandera sagas? our diplomacy is just on another level.... we need to give our army some kibarua .... they've been too idle for so long a time!

@waithaka. That is a good one. But surely the fellow has an irritating habit letting problems sort themselves out.

The solution is simple, we block the railway and we stop the Uganda imports from transiting through Kenyan soil. But seriously Kenya needs to act, coz most of our neighbours are playing with us. i think that even our army is bored in the barracks.

Sometime back, there was a debate about our defence spending. Kenya spends almost 20% of its cash on defence. Ya nini? We have neighbours on every border entering in and out of Kenya like we are village bicycle, while our army remains in the barracks. Why not get rid of the whole army and hire the gungho Americans when and if needed and direct that cash to development projects like building a functioning rail system or feeding the nation?
