It is a yes and a no. Machakos-Nairobi-Nakuru highway has a greater impact since it is part of the northern corridor. All goods destined on transit & for export to Ug, Rwanda and Congo use this highway. But at the moment it does need much attention for the time being as compared to during Kanu regime (was recently recarpeted). The No is; Thika Rd needed attention since Nairobi population is moving away from the city centre. Thika Rd has rapidly mushrooming residential estates & massive expansion ie Kasarani, Zimmerman, Kahawa, Githurai etc. Thika Rd is the major highway being fed by roads frm all this estates not forgetting traffic from further on, as Muranga, Meru, Garissa, etc. My two cent opinion is: Machakos-Nairobi-Nakuru highway should have been expanded the same way as Thika Rd since we are heading to a massive traffic jam in that direction.
