The ICC has summoned the Ocampo 6 to appear by on April 7.

http://www.nation.co.ke/...-/11fsux3z/-/index.html

I guess one thing that could happen when they appear is that they will be barred from contesting or holding any public office until the case is determined and then the case will drag on till 2013. I think its all gloves off now politically. I think the ICC has just declared Kalonzo president by this decision. Or it now gives an opportunity for a third candidate to come and shine. Does anyone in wazua know Abdikadir Mohammed to tell him what someone once told Obama, "A man doesn't choose the moment. The moment chooses the man." With the exit of Uhuru, Ruto and Raila Kenyans will be willing and ready to listen to a Fresh voice. (Raila may not be going to the Hague but the other 2 have followings that would ensure he does not get the required 50% vote.) Abdikadir!!!! step up and seize the moment!!!!!!!!!

@Kusadikika, as much as that may be a good move for Kenya, Abdikadir hawesmek it! (read tribal segregation)and as @Guka says, SKM is a hard sell to the population. Would he garner 25% votes in 24 counties?
What about the "fear" that elections may not happen in 2012?

Many people seem unaware that this 25% rule only applies to the first round. The constitution requires just a simple majority in the second round.

Although logically, this rule will probably be naturally fulfilled, it does not automatically follow. Especially given the distorted population distribution in the 47 counties.

For instance, Nairobi with 3M+ is one county while some counties have less than 100,000 pax. It is mathematically possible for the person with 50%+1 not to garner 25% in 24 counties.

In fact, like 2007, hii inaweza kuwa shida ingine in 2012 where the loser will e.g. claim to have won the vote in 30 counties.

All my friends are heathens, take it slow. Wait for them to ask you who you know. Please don't make any sudden moves.

Why would he claim be the winner if he does not get 50% + 1 votes in addition to at least 25% of the 30 counties you mention?

Our local politics is personality driven unfortunately. In this cesspool however, I like this particular candidate presented. Neutral ethnicity with a reputation that precedes him. However, I would like to hear of his blueprint - as well as that of any other contenders - for the nation if he does choose to run. Until then I adopt a wait & see attitude. Heck, someone in the meantime pass the message to him - 'arise'!
