Is Esther Mirugi serious??? She has launched a toll free hotline 109 where the hungry and drought stricken can call to ask for help.....this minister and by extension the govt must be really out of touch with it's people!!!!!

Whaaat? that's all they need to feed hundreds for months! Why call to only get one gorogoro ya mahindi when they can put that money into good use... Kwani what is the work of the sub-chiefs and councilors in the area?

I have never seen any of the people shown in the dailies as hunger stricken holding a mobile phone...
Yenyewe Esther is such a let down! Is she suggesting that they do not know where hunger is hitting?
Gosh, i miss the elections already. I am tired of this crop.
....above all, to stand.

So the money simply stays here in Nairobi?

People still want to stick to the old, talk of anti reform. Cant they at the very least have these call centres in or near those areas so that they pay those people they expect to be getting calls from and about?

Typical payuka. this thread is obviously by someone who doesn't grasp the intent on use of emergency lines or is deliberately misrepresenting it!

How do you expect the central govt to manage effort and communication in an emergency situation affecting multiple geographic lcoations where relief agencies, chiefs, volunteers and Kenyans of goodwill are all involved?
