....this is the right opportunity for ODM to do some house cleaning..MPs who actively campaigned for NO should not be allowed into the membership of the Oversight Commission..Shame on you Shame on you Shame on you Shame on you

i dont its 'punish'. They were just selecting those suited best to handle the task. you cant trust someone who did not want the laws in the first place to implement them. When we use 'punish' it makes it sound like they were qualified for the job but were deliberately sidelined.

Leaving them out of the implementation committee is okay......but suspending/expelling them from the party is a waste....i more than often call this throwing good money after bad.Let's look ahead and ignore those who want to pull us behind.

@Njunge,

You are right, i think ODM shouldnt have stooped that low as to remove them from the party. Just not including them in the oversight committee was enough if we are to move forward.

If Raila is able to bring together the clique yes had, it wont matter what Ruto does. Ruto might just be a dying horse. Remember, for the referendum, majority of the No sayers were because of the church's stand, not because of Ruto. In his own constituency, there were many who did not listen to him..... and kalenjins are divided too as you saw some on the yes camp..... they can use that against him - in that, he 'misled' the 'community' in 2010 and segregated them when the country was going in a different direction.

I do not look up to Hon. Ruto as a leader given his past shenanigans in YK '92, in the KANU government and even in the Grand Confusion (Maize saga).

HOWEVER...
Methinks arap Samoei brings a semblance of balance to Orange House. Chucking his clique would reduce ODM to a mere Raila Cheer-leading Squad (Midiwo, Nyong'o, Orengo, Mudavadi et al) - kinda like KANU....with different party colours.

As far as implementation goes, I'd say a voice of dissent or two wouldn't hurt. Just coz you're all in consensus doesn't mean you're headed in the right direction, innit?

The last thing Kenya needs is implementation of the new constitution driven by euphoria bila sobriety.

ODM is just a dictatorial party. nothing changes in Kenya. we deal with people who make unpopular choices (even those constitutionally guaranteed) using threats. we are so immature.

The katiba that midiwo,ny'ongo and co. were selling to kenyans does include in the bill of rights (32,33) freedom of conscience,thought,belief and opinion.how can they turn around and punish those that exercise values that are espoused in 'their' katiba?what about millions that voted NO,are they not eligible for any position under this katimba.DOMOCRACY--democracy by mouth,dictators by deeds. shindwe!

@Maskuma, bepari et al...you may realise that the utterances by Ny'ong'o and co. was stage managed, since RAO's rejoinder (on jogoo road), was quite different....this is politics brothers/sisters. RAO now seems to be embracing the NOist
