Started of by giving up the parliamentary system in Naivasha and now by putting himself 'above' the competition with KM for the Chaimanship of a house committee. He is therefore, more accomodating than Kibs.
My definition as a statesman.
He can then concentrate on the bigger picture. I bet the next step for him will be to let Kibera Goby 2012
I care!

mandela, lincoln and nyerere are statesmen.but calling RAO a statesman,is the oxymoron of the week forget the strategy.his ambition is to be Fabregas when he grows up.

If he's not, then we have no statesman/woman in Kenya. Anybody commanding the type of following he has and is able to accomodate other opposing political views like he has in the last few months, then he is. Just imagine if he did not change, do you think peace would have returned in Feb 08 and the referendum peaceful as it was?

You think he did so for his love of Kenya? We know what opinion polls told us about the most preferred politician 4 presidency!Who nids a parliamentary system anyway? It's a mockery of democracy.Apart from Jomo, Raila Odinga is the most overrated politician in Kenyan history.

ati he accomodates other oppossing political views?he only does so when he's cornered.flashback 1994 ford kenya elections wamalwa beat him as party chair and he left for NDP,me thinks you cant be a good leader unless you are gracious enough to be led by others. On commanding a huge following, even Hitler had even greater following and was democratically elected.

...RAO is applying the 48 laws of power as he has his mind set for the presidency
....LAW 1 - Never outshine your master.
He has realised that he is stealing the show. Backing down abit is just a control check!!!

So you think there was peace because of Raila? Not talking

He is no statesman he's just playing 2012 politics....Kibaki will not be a threat so why fight him. I would really respect him as a politician if he retires with MK.
