Rank: Elder Joined: 6/27/2008 Posts: 4,114		The last time I went down this highway [about 2 months ago], the contractor re-building the JKIA-Machakos junction [SBI] had abandoned the site. I don't seem to remember hearing about the stalling of this construction in the news. Remind me what happened... Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

Rank: New-farer Joined: 7/19/2010 Posts: 98 Location: Kenya		Most likely it is an issue of delayed payments, revised project costs, gava running out of cash til June 2010-2011 budget or some other dispute. They have restarted albeit at tortoise pace. Now I can understand why they do roads in sections, so that they can hold the government at ransom. Like some of the bridges are deliberately incomplete. All the same this is one road that should have been dualised up to Machakos turn-off.
