Best Wazua Stock Analyst - 2010

We are finally here. We shall finally establish who is the best stock investor / speculator / analyst / strategist over the next 3 months.

Participants are as follows (in the joining order): @VVS, Guru267, YouCan't, Sparkly, the Deal, Winston, Wa_ithaka, 2012, Alo, Atiriri and the Statmeister.

You will need to select 5 stocks (you do not have to buy all 5 at the begining) and post . Use the following format: stock1/# of shares; stock2/# of shares, etc (e.g. Buy KPLC/100; KQ/1000; AK/1000; KK/5000; KCB/0 meaning KCB selected but no shares to be bought now on 19th). For further trades, only put the share(s) you want to trade (e.g. Sell KQ/1000; Buy CFC/500)

The draft rules will be as follows:

1. All participants will start their portfolios with a virtual capital of 100k
2. The scope of this is stocks listed and trading on the NSE
3. An investor can buy into a maximum of 5 counters at the onset.
4. A participant may dump a part or the whole of their counter(s) at any time during the 3 months. Odd lots allowed, but fractions of a share are not allowed (u.e 42 shares allowed, 42.3 shares not allowed
5. A participant can only subsequently buy into and out of the original 5 selected counters. No sixth counter may be added at any time
6. There is no requirement to fully invest all liquidity in stocks
7. Transactions will be traded at daily closing prices, and transactions costs are a standard 2.1% at these prices whenever a participant trades
8. Trades will be effected on the day following advice by the participant. Trading will be advised by updating on the thread.
9. A stock that has been bought becomes sellable after 3 days (including day of trading), e.g. buy order on monday, stocks bought on tuesday, stocks can be sold on friday (excl. tue + wed + thur)
10. If a buy order is given, it will be executed in the order which stocks are listed, and any extra shares for which no funds are available will be ignored)
10. Winner gets a cold one from me on the next wazua summit

The date of first buy is 19th July 2010, final valuations done on 19th Oct 2010. I will post buy / send confirmations on the thread whenever such are done. I will also post valuations on the thread.

Lets keep this simple - its just a game.

Please not hard words on this thread.

Buena Suerte

@s, no. dividends will go to cash account. to reinvest, you have to place a buy order. keep in mind book closure and paymenr date.

stock gains / losses will simulate the nse

I happen to think the coin is in @qw's favour, in uncertain volatile markets, TA is superior to fundamentals
