That is what I am doing.
I am investing in 90 day bills on a monthly basis.
therefore, some funds would be available if a juicy bond comes about.
Otherwise, I just rollover the maturing T Bill, and get a better interest.

The danger is that a juicy IFB might be floated when a sizeable amount of your cash is locked up in the 91days bills.

Is the servicing of the debts at those rates still sustainable

I'd be worried too. Ghanaian bondholders got a 50% haircut on their investments.

Nabii would really love such a haircut. He really hates the so called middle class who invest in such vehicles.

If you re-read this thread, you will notice that there was a time the coupon rates hit a high of 22%.

But then, again, to each their own devices.

Am really waiting for the next IFB @18% coupon rate.

I got the following message today from CBK:-

Dear Investor, CBK is rolling out a new Central Securities Depository system (DhowCSD) which will go live on 31/07/2023. To allow for this transition, we shall not accept rollovers for Auctions value date 31/07/2023.

Those intending to do rollovers please take note.

In Treasury bills I trust. I'm hiding safely inside this space for now until next year atleast, with 9% of my investment portfolio, real Estate remains at 90%, and stocks in Uganda and Kenya at 1%

An anomaly has occurred in this week's TBills auction. The 91 days' bills are now attracting a higher coupon rate than the 182 days' bills. Quite unprecedented.

Therefore, I think the coupon will be a bit higher, even though it is tax free.

The prospectus for this bond was done in a hurry. For instance, reading through the article on the amortization, it is not clear how long it will take to redeem in full amounts upto to Kshs 1M.

I have sought clarification from CBK.
According to them, any amount upto KES 1M, will be redeemed in full during the first redemption on 15/06/2026.

@MatataMingi,
I have gone through my statement (Corporate Action) in the newly launched DhowCSD Portal and it is apparent that the CBK guys were clueless ON THE REDEMPTION PART. It is now obvious that all redemptions shall be done in three tranches as contained in the Prospectus.

Kindly go through the new portal and you will notice the same.

Exactly. Inflation is what it is. Getting 14.7% in the current state of things, is a blessing

Yes, I was also eventually able to pay for my bid through Standard Chartered.
They provided a detailed step by step guide on the process.
Was very impressed by SCB.
Still a lot of mess with the new CBK Dhow system.
For every bid, payment etc. it sends you numerous, mostly meaningless, SMSs and emails.
The old TMD system was a lot better, and user friendly.

Has anyone experienced a problem with recent coupon payment due on this Monday, 9th. October?
I had a coupon due for a 3 year Bond. I t wasn't paid till 8pm at night.
My wife had a coupon due also, which wasn't paid till the next morning.
Normally, coupons are paid before lunch on Mondays.

The November 2023 IFB minimum value has been set at 50k. This is a departure from the usual 100k. Looks like GoK trying to attract small fish.
