You are funny.
At least we sold THE PAKA those 4 years ago and warned you guys to leave the doomed casino pronto. Only a fool doesn't change his mind. Others clung to the Casino and lost their shirts!!! Oh I forgot. "Dividends are sustaining us"

macros are flashing red. IMF is playing hardball. IFB reopen came in at 30% subscription with 13.74% interest. Lower than Eurobond which doesn't make sense. Means rates need to be higher north of 18%. Dollar index is pointing to 110 so kshs will be squeezed. We are yet to navigate that shitstorm so it's early to call a bottom

Perhaps that was already priced in.
There is just something about this snap back that feels different. My portfolio has gained each day for the past 10 days. I don't mind the market coming back lower, I am still accumulating.

Our NSE is the worst stock market globally in 2023. A repeat of 2017.

No it isn't. Not on a dollar adjusted basis. The Kenya Shilling has lost more than 18% against the dollar, so any foreigner in bonds has lost value despite the 16% plus coupon rates.

"Kenya has evolved to a nightmarish bureaucracy, marred by nightmarish corruption. Bureaucratic thinking pervades not only the public sector but even ordinary companies, it has become a kind of a modus vivendi: make things as complicated as possible, introduce the maximum possible number of unnecessary steps and problems everywhere."

I saw this quote somewhere and quite true about NSE companies. Most are evolving to bureaucratic messes including the once nimble safcom.

KCB is yet to see bad things. For Safaricom, Ethiopia will take time to bring positive contribution to the profits & Ndegwa still doesn't inspire 3+ years down the line.

Let me swear & die with the traditional; BAT, Stanchart & ABSA. Thinking of Williamson & Kapchorua 🤔
