No,this aint about the Nazis.....

I got word from a friend that there are only 1 or 2 crematoria in the city - could that be true? Now,people are dying all the time,so it's not like this would be a business that will run out of customers.

Main customers? The asian community,hospitals/mortuaries that have to get rid of cadavers,or just any family without the money to have someone buried. A side business would include the selling of ceramic urns...

Reason why thee are very few crematoriums in Kenya is coz most indigenous Kenyans abhor it; but things are improving albeit slowly.

Penetrating the Asian market will be a bit difficult; these guyz have a very efficient, exclusive and organized cremating system.

Most public mortuaries are under-funded,cannot afford to cremate every unwanted cadaver so they throw them away or are used by students……..Kenyans are a funny lot; even the poor ones somehow get funds to bury their loved ones; owing to culture and traditions.

I am not saying it is impossible; it’s just that in Kenya culture and traditions still run deep; convincing people to cremate their dead loved ones will be the biggest hurdle u will face. There are some who cremate, but it is usually few and far between; they are not enough to sustain a crematorium business…..

Word of advice: think along the lines of cheap and eco-friendly coffins….

Men who are occupied in the restoration of health to other men,by the joint exertion of skill and humanity, are above all the great of the earth. They even partake of divinity, since to preserve and renew is almost as noble as to create. VOLTAIRE
