Yes indeed.
But results of SCBK , ABSA, EQTY, and NIC still outstanding .
Any of them can pull a surprise in terms of dividend or bonus issue.

None of those you have mentioned can match that figure.
NIC would have to give a dividend of ksh.4.20 minimum to surpass the figure.
ABSA expect no dividend.
SCBK issued a profit warning and would have to give a dividend of ksh.18.30 to beat the figure.
Please show us the mathematics behind your numbers. Thank you.

The mathematics is based on the issued number of shares for the respectively

NCBA issued shares is 1,497,745,029 so dividend per share has to be about 4 to surpass Co-op
SCBK issued shares is 343510571 so dividend per share has to be 17.2 to surpass coop.

Coop bank issued shares is 5,869,179,554 and they are giving dividend per share of ksh.1.

Multiply the number of issued shares by dividend per share to get the dividend payout.

Fair enough but this (total dividend payout) is irrelevant when comparing (apples to apples) returns to shareholders like us.
What matters to me (& @young) is the DY or dividend we get NOT the total dividend the firm pays out.

In the NSE and other stock markets such as Dow Jones,Nikkei and NASDAQ companies with the highest dividend yield have the lowest returns to shareholders while companies with the lowest dividend yield have the highest returns to shareholders.

In all the years I've been on the NSE, I've only observed and benefited from that trend with KK (decent buyout price) and Safaricom (capital gains). I would be happy to learn which other NSE counters you've observed with similar correlation.

PS: KCB has both good DY and capital gains, so it doesn't fall in the category you mention.

Low DY and very good share price appreciation/capital gains.
Equity DY for the longest time has been below 5
EABL DY has mostly been below 5
Jubilee Holdings
CIC when the price skyrocketed to 11 yet dividend was 10 cents
Centum share price 48-60 with dividend of ksh.1.20

I'm in EABL, and regrettably in the red from capital loss. Perhaps those who've held it much much longer than I share your fortune on this one.

I'm not in any of the others... I'll check them out, except Centum. Thanks.

I once bought EABL and within 18 months, share price had doubled excluding dividends.

Well received today. At current share price, that yield is almost 10%

Kingdom Bank’s management is projecting at least Sh300 million pre-tax profit this financial year, riding on a confidence boost after being acquired by Co-operative Bank.
If realised, this will be the first profit— also the best performance in over a decade — ending a streak of five years in losses.
Kingdom Bank has already posted a net profit of Sh126 million in the three months ended March and wants to carry this momentum into the full year.
The improving performance has seen Cooperative Bank retain in its books the Sh3.2 billion it booked as goodwill when acquiring the small lender.

Firms that book goodwill on acquisition usually perform impairment tests to determine which level of goodwill to retain in their books in line with the performance of the acquired entity.

Kingdom is now compliant with all CBK capital and liquidity ratios. It had Sh1.15 billion core capital and a liquidity ratio of 387 percent in March.

The bank last year received Sh20.96 billion liquidity support financing from the Central Bank of Kenya. The loan is interest-free and repayable in 10 years but has a grace period of three years.
Kingdom Bank has a footprint 17 branches and three agencies serving over 136,000 customers.

Co-op Bank wants to use the acquired lender to create a niche bank to offer specialised credit offerings such as micro small and medium-sized enterprise banking, asset finance and leasing.

After getting 21bn in interest-free loans then how can it not make a profit?
All it needs to do is reinvest the same 21bn in government paper at 10-12%!

Obscene for one employee to be getting a quarter a billion bonus during a pandemic.

Co-op Bank has extended its joint venture with the government of South Sudan by three years, renewing the parties’ co-ownership of the lender’s subsidiary headquartered in Juba.

The partners formed the Co-operative Bank of South Sudan in 2013, with the Kenyan banking multinational taking a controlling 51 percent stake in the company.

The government took the remaining 49 percent equity which it was to hold in trust and later transfer to the co-operative movement in that country in a few years.

Co-op Bank says the transfer of the minority stake has been delayed by economic and political challenges in that country.

“The 49 percent shareholding held by the government of South Sudan was to be transferred to the co-operative societies in South Sudan but the peace process, the performance of that economy has taken time to stabilise and we have extended that period by another three or so years,” chief executive Gideon Muriuki told shareholders at the virtual annual general meeting held on Friday.

South Sudan has been working on building a coalition government, comprising former rebel leaders, following its independence from Sudan in 2011.

Co-operative bank is counting on the assistance of neighboring presidents Yoweri Museveni and Paul Kagame to revive its plans for regional expansion and become one of the small circle of Kenyan banks operating abroad.

Uganda used to have a co-operative bank between 1960 and late 90s that was shut down by the Bank of Uganda likely as a result of the Structural Adjustment Programmes (SAPs).

There are plans to re-establish the bank. Co-op (K) will need M7's political support to enter the market.
