What is the likelihood of EAC achieving a monetary union by 2024 given the way different regimes are pulling esp with regards to taxation.
Establishment of a stable Monetary Union requires a strong institutional framework to monitor and enforce convergence but this too is looking elusive.

looking at the forex market of these 6 countries and the business between the countries, it seems likely that we can get a monetary union. However, it seems to be a case of the body is willing But the spirit is weak.

what's your take?

We are still far from a monetary union.
The exchange rates of the member countries to each other is also an issue.
