NMG wants to do a share buyback of 10% of its issued shares to boost the share price I would not agree with this fact that its a good idea to buyback. Stock buyback is a manipulative practice, whereby a company buys its own shares on the open market. A company can gain investor's confidence by growing earnings like creating better products, adding more services or conducting research and development — essentially, investing in the future. This way, investors will feel better placed to invest in the company. To me, a stock buyback is simply a way for a company to manipulate its share prices by creating artificial demand for its own stock. . After the manipulation happens, the stock might crash...

After gamblers make the share recover, the buyout plan will be shelved "Don't let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning."

This way, investors will feel better placed to invest in the company. To me, a stock buyback is simply a way for a company to manipulate its share prices by creating artificial demand for its own stock. . After the manipulation happens, the stock might crash... Let's tackle each point: 1) The company does not gain from price manipulation (though some shareholders may) and NMG's price was quite low when the buyback was announced. It has run up 60% so the motivation for a buyback from the COMPANY's end has reduced. 2) NMG has introduced new products eg paid subscription for Nation. I expect they will add Business Daily soon. Also the NBA deal. Perhaps they may even add some football if they can get the rights. 3) If you do not like it, sell the shares at the higher (+60%) price. Greedy when others are fearful.
