Kimunya censured President Uhuru Kenyatta's flagship project, saying the money was dumped in the infrastructure initiative.

And residents of Kikuyu and Limuru are questioning the investment in expanding the road to Rironi. The old road was just fine Why does everyone blame the Jubilee administration for failed projects, or projects that are too expensive? Kimunya should know better. To be fair, it is not the Jubilee administration's fault that these projects were started or even planned. Most projects we blame them for mishandling are Vision 2030 projects, something that the previous (most capable) administration (of which Kimunya as Finance Minister was an integral part) planned and started implementing. The Jubilee administration has not started anything of significance. Even the so-called Big 4 Agenda is just an emphasis of 4 areas of Vision 2030. Could it be that Kimunya was telling us that the timing of the SGR extension from Nairobi to Naivasha was bogus? Or that the Uhuru administration has botched the financing of the extension? Because, unless we have been badly misinformed, even that extension was planned in Vision 2030, albeit as an extension from Nairobi to Kisumu and Malaba. So it is not a Jubilee administration project, and fingers should not be pointed at the Jubilee administration for having a shoddy project as they have not authored or established any project of any significance. In fact, they have delayed several Vision 2030 projects, and for that they should be blamed,... but not for any new non-existent projects. What we should blame the Jubilee administration for is for dismantling a functioning government and mishandling the financing and running of the same. They brought in a cabal of inexperienced hotshot autocrats to replace mature career civil servants that knew how everything works and where every skeleton was buried, and now we are paying dearly for it. In their inexperienced hands, Kenya is now broke and the government has become a pariah on its people, with KRA as its most trusted agent. As things stand today, KRA will come to collect for everything from income derived from unauthorized farts to hard-to-prove online businesses. SGR, the Airport to ABC Expressway, the expansion of the Nairobi - Nakuru highway (in Nairobi), the new Nairobi - Mombasa toll road (if it ever starts), you name it - these are all Vision 2030 projects. What will the legacy of the current administration be? And will us Kenyans allow the continuation of this by voting in one of their principals in 2022? Do we have any otherwise (as we are wont to say)? Any alternatives? Me, I don't know what's in store for my kids, and I'm worried because, if the Jubilee administration is anything to go by, our future leadership is lacking, and I can't see a current credible alternative at the moment.

Kimunya should stop being stupid. If you are putting up a mansion, but due to financial constraints you decide to finish the ground floor first and move in, it doesn't mean that you have wasted money. Same with naivasha SGR. It is meant to get to kisumu but it has only paused kidogo hapo suswa due to funds, just like the house. And those maasai should also stop being stupid, wameletewa SGR to their doorstep and dont know what to do with it. Also the govt should demand that containers destined for western kenya be picked at mai mahiu inland container depot to reduce congestion on mai mahiu road. Kenyans are tired of spending the night being stuck on that road. Proverbs 13:11 Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.

Americans should also stop being dumb. Its no wonder their bunge was overrun in an effort to drain the swamp. https://sv.usembassy.gov/the-railroad-to-nowhere/
Quote:The Railroad to Nowhere China Built Has Opened in Kenya
Kenya opened a new China-funded rail link as part of the government’s agenda to increase investment in infrastructure, and is seeking about 400 billion shillings ($3.8 billion) to upgrade roads.
The extension, which ends in a village 120 kilometers (75 miles) west of the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, is part of a project of a railroad stretching from the port city of Mombasa to the border with Uganda, but is only halfway complete. Proverbs 13:11 Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.

there are other more pressing realities instead of building a 65 billion express highway from mlolongo to james gichuru road.
are the hospital equipped enough with drugs and facilities? do all public schools have enough materials/facilities to teach kids the new cbc curriculum?

Extract from Go out and talk to the people, Mr PresidentSunday, January 10, 2021 By Gitau Warigi who Writes a weekly column for the Sunday Nation Link: Quote:Jomo’s style The Oscar Sudis and Johanna Ngenos lambast him and his family daily.
He doesn't respond.
On social media his Tangatanga critics have swamped the space, ridiculing him and his projects every day.
No wonder he shut down his Twitter accounts.
Then he insults the DCI when he seeks to open PEV issues.
Wah! You give up.
That was not Jomo's style.
Surely the fruit rolled far away from the tree.
Uhuru is a consequential President.
He is.
The stuff he has done is commendable.
It's only the succession issues which he needs to sort out.
That he must.
I would want to believe Uhuru has the raw NIS intelligence reports of what Kang'ata was warning about.
I don't know what game he's playing.
But it had better be damn good.
Damn good.
Because if it boomerangs, that will be the end of him and the Kenyatta name in Mt Kenya memory.
Amen. Hear, hear.

this hustler versus dynasty narrative is very dangerous. it is basically a way of pushing the 'poor' against the 'rich'. what ruto and his sycophants don't realise is that poverty and wealth are relative. this would easily morph into anybody with anything (a goat, a chicken, a house etc) being targeted by thieves claiming they are the dynasty. this dangerous joke should have been stopped before it even began. biggest irony is that the narrative is being driven by one of the richest people in kenya.
