EABL is a monopoly. They have a lot of opportunities and for that reason I'd say it's undervalued but if they don't take advantage of their status then their value will go down. I hope their new MD starts getting it right. Losing Tusker Safari 7s was a terrible start to his reign.

BBI will solve it

On a LEVEL playing field (read: all brewers to pay taxes) EABL is king... lakini when you have shady operators + politically owned alochol firms... kuna shida...

"Kenya’s illicit beer-brewing industry accounts for as much as 60 percent of total alcohol consumption in Kenya, and 70 percent of spirits consumption"

I knew illicit brews are consumed a lot, but I didn't know it was this much. If the industry is streamlined, then I would say that EABL has huge potential.
But all the same, I think the announcement of the 1 billion drop in profitability will affect the share.

It all depends on the cause of the profit reduction. It might be due to a one off expense e.g Some upgrade invetment. If it it due to reduced revenue, it will be a reason to worry. For Bargain hunters time EABL at 150 and you will smile all the way to the Bank

They are acquiring Serengeti Breweries....this is a plus...when or if it reaches 150...i will gladly mop up the shares...as for revenues, watu mpaka wapewe...in fact as the economy improve, more cash will be in the pockets of ppl, thus people will drink more!!!!!!
