“As part of our hospital surge, we expanded capacity at a breakneck speed, ensuring our hospital infrastructure would be prepared to handle the very worst. We did so only with a single-minded focus: saving lives,” de Blasio spokeswoman Avery Cohen told The Post Friday.
“Over the past few months, social distancing, face coverings, and other precautionary measures have flattened the curve drastically, and we remain squarely on focused taking that progress even further,” Cohen added.
New York flattened the curve and are reemerging from it... The George Floyd protests are likely to see another surge in infections.

Overcapacity is not a bad thing. Its much better than undercapacity. They planned for the worst case. But they were able to flatten the curve so the extra hospital was not needed.

Bergamo, Italy One day we will take this test too. Results could be higher than this Quote:More than half of Bergamo residents who submitted a blood sample tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 antibodies, health authorities in the northern Italian city reported Monday.
Out of nearly 10,000 Bergamo residents who had their blood tested between April 23 and June 3, 57% had antibodies, indicating they had come into contact with the virus and developed an immune response. https://www.google.com/a...ve-antibodies/a-53739727

Unlikely- all cities that have had massive Covid cases that are visible for all to see have not even reached 60% yenu itazidi hiyo and have no sizable increase of complications based on what logic? Everyone who I know has suffered Covid - personally talked to tell me it’s tough but they survived and for some reason it passed through over 60% of us and was undetected? Forget that story of “bad homa in Dec/Jan/Feb” - no one I know who has had Covid said it was “homa” and they have had homa earlier. All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!

Quote:Seventy-eight per cent of all Covid-19 patients are asymptomatic and will be cared for at home, CAS Rashid Aman has said. This comes to about 2,400 patients. Speaking during the daily brief on Wednesday, Aman said the asymptomatic patients range from mild symptoms to none at all. "These patients can be managed at home, provided procedures are followed. MOH has just launched home-based care guidelines available on the Ministry of Health portal," he said. "It has been developed to provide a solution in the surge of coronavirus.. the guidelines dictate the procedures," he said. https://www.the-star.co....me-based-care-cas-aman/

The more I try to forget the bad homa stories of Dec/Jan/Feb the more studies come up to prove it could have been it a d that COVID was around much earlier. Some study in China has indicated that the virus could have been mangamangaring i China Wuhan from as early as August 2019. Link https://www.theguardian....n-august-study-suggests(AMA HAKA NI KA GUTTER PRESS KA HUKO?) If thats true, then all this interventions will only be playing a small part since before Jan we had no protocols for management yet we did not see abnormal cases. Let's assume it was floating around in China towards the end summer of 2019. Where increased number of people WITH CARS going to hospitals on certain days were all related to Covid. We know that the disease is a bit like a fire... it burns through a population until it's either done with the bodies to infect (Bergamo has 57% of their population with antibodies for Covid) or measures are put in place to choke it and snuff it out (New Zealand and otehr Islands have proven this well... they choked it and since no new cases came in) but for some reason it failed to show up under anyones radar until late December... 4-5 months later. Became a problem to countries that really really really trade with china in Feb, March (8 months later). Spectacular sicknesses. People not breathing. Big economies that trade with these people got the spectacle after about 8 months of August. For some reason Kenya got it floating around in Dec, Jan, Feb as a 'homa' (considering Kenyans say 'homa' when they mean something that in addition to coughs amongst other symptoms is sneezing & running nose - which are really rear symptoms and our textbook definition of 'homa' does not have FEVER... the tell-tell symptom but lets forget that for now or loss of taste and smell). it came - hit those it hit and cleared. We went the Bergamo way but without lockdowns and any measures and it run out of fuel.) We never exported it to like Rwanda or UG or anywhere else we go. Then the second group came - akina brenda group... it started spreading. initially our test samples were having a hit-rate of under 2% now as we hit the thousands we can see close to 10% hit rates WITHIN PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD ACCESS TO PEOPLE WE RECENTLY KNOW HAD COVID. For this whole story to be true it requires a number of things to line up 1) Kenyans are special people. We have some innate immunity to this new disease which we lose as soon as we board a flight out of the country (as of mid May - 30 Kenyans in the diaspora had croaked coz of Covid out of the 193 that had been recorded as cases). it hit big economies after 8 months but spared us. 2) We got herd immunity 30,000,000 of us got it but without an issue - but now is starting to move again but it is only hunting those that didn't get it first time OR People can catch the disease twice- Kenyans are proof because it swept through our shores as a 'bad homa' when we had 0 social distancing measures and it ended now its back again. I know people wish the following to be true 1) We are a special people that somehow manifest this disease differently 2) We have been through this before and so it will not hurt us now Where is no proof that the above is true. Are we manifesting the disease differently? I think we are! But our death rates are about 3% now... but if we look back do we ever see a situation when 3% of our population died on our march towards stopping covid in Jan,Feb,Mar when it came first time? The mazematics does not add up! All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!

No Masukuma,we are not special but for sure this virus is manifesting diffetently in us......Kenyans and Africa as a whole. It has been kind to us this far and we thank God for that. Yes we are taking care and following protocols given but the bright side of it is that we are infected mildly and we are healing. And that is why we are baffling the West.
