Alma, considering the security issues that are likely to arise, I don't know how you're likely to come out of quarantine. It's very dicey. For example, self imposed quarantines have their costs - sacrifice - while government imposed quarantines may end up in violent resistance due to hunger and cramped living conditions servicing 'social distancing'.

In England, military planners have been called in to figure out how to feed the hungry. And the government has some serious money to back up these operations. Governments without such muscle may find it rough. They may end up collaborating with the virus.

Kenya may easily be in such a category in the event of a protracted lockdown. We need more innovation here. With 86% in the informal sector and most people living hand to mouth, it may be insensitive to speak of 'sacrifice' on many who will have big trouble either way.

We may need a civilian led kitty and a quickly crafted civilian - military cooperation strategy to shore up supplies and order systems around the country. Corvid is a complex problem requiring multidimensional thinking.

This virus is not here to negotiate.

Listen, it is not negotiating.

As I'm writing this Angela Merkel is in self quarantine.

I don't trust Kenyans to be wise, so I shall keep away from as many of them as I can. I may not be successful but I sure will try.

If I get it, I have proof in heaven that I tried.

As for me caring if Kenyans can afford to be without a job for a day or a week, that is really not my problem.

Sometimes you have to be wise to understand that even in Italy, people are dying and getting cremated and their family has no idea.
