Dividends on shares for individuals the w/holding tax is 5%, what about if the investing entity is a limited company?

Same 5% as individuals . Please note that for foreign individual investors like us, we are charged higher, a withholding tax of 10% of dividend. Call it tithe on dividends . This is not peculiar to Nairobi bourse. In general non resident foreign investors everyway always pay higher withholding tax on dividend income.

1. A Kenyan Company with less than 12.5% shareholding - WHT at 5%; 2. A Kenyan company with 12.5% or more shareholding - WHT at 0% 3. Foreign Companies - WHT at 10%

Centum is a core holding for me. Longhorn is Tier 2 for the dividend yield and eventually capital gains when a sale/takeover takes place at a premium. I believe JM will deliver Applause

if Companies like KCB cannot hold their AGMs, does it mean no dividends will be paid until this COVID 19 runs its course whenever that will be?

Firms can announce and pay one or two INTERIM dividends which can replace final dividends. Same difference. AGMs have to be held but the CMA could/should allow online AGMs i.e. live streaming with Q&As via phone lines or other means e.g. conferencing. It's not insurmountable and going forward it could become permanent for those who cannot physically attend AGMs.
