they are flipping it to, "the DJ threatened using a firearm..." guess who will be in shyt? The dj is not even licenced, if they push the claim it might end bad for him.
Babu is a thug, he used to kidnap his competitor in UON before election day and give them a whipping using goons, ask Magoha. It will be insane to expect justice in this case. The despot will walk away scotfree and continue his thuglife.

Thug kabisa. And knows how to use money. He enticed us with packets of milk and free screening of champions league games. And those goons were scary bana.

He says that, the video that is purportedly showing his client shooting the Dj, is an old clip. Reason? That video shows his client smoking shisha when it was legal to smoke and that was a long time ago.

Sad Sad Sad I don't know where this is going.

So in other words Babu has shot someone else before at that club? Had he really thought that lie through?

Yes,in this video it's a movie Ongili was acting and due for release soon!

This is Kenya. Jaguar & bishop Nganga are still free, so stop thinking anything will happen to Babu, baba's puppet in the spirit of the handshake and BBI. Hizi ni za kuwachiya aliye juu.

Yaani it was that obvious. Now the case will go on for years until we forget. That's how Kenya works.
Now, let's go back to more important issues like BBI.

BBI will solve it

Embakasi East member of Parliament Babu Owino, real name Paul Ongili, has been released on a cash bail of Sh10 million in his case over the shooting of a DJ.

In the ruling on Monday evening, the court said the money will be used to settle the hospital bills of victim DJ Evolve, whose name is Felix Odhiambo Orinda.

The amount will be paid to the court in four installments and will be used to clear all the bills the DJ will incur in the best medical facilities until he recovers fully.

Lawyer Cliff Ombeta said they will pay the amount less the Sh600,000 that the MP paid earlier.

He said Babu acted with impunity when he offered to pay the bills but also noted that detaining him would be tantamount to fully withdrawing the services the DJ is receiving at The Nairobi Hospital, whose doctors say he is stable.

Mr Andayi further said there were compelling reasons to deny the MP bail but that he reconsidered the matter so he can pay the bills.

Any unutilised portion of the Sh10 million will remain deposited in court until the case is concluded.

DN print copy quotes Ombeta saying they had already carried 2.5M to court(less the 600K spent on the Dj's bill)

Who told the magistrate that the court can appropriate government revenue in form of financial es, bond, bail?

I was wondering the same. Because bail is refundable when declared innocent. So, by his actions, the judge is admitting that Babu is guilty.

Cash bail is refundable regardless of guilt. You get your money after judgement.....you can even use the money to pay fines or merry with your counsel after a brave fight...... In this case a new precedence has been set by the Koti bandia

I think we should not complain. This is justice with a human face. Something missing all too often in Kenya.

I believe Judges are allowed to be creative in interpreting the law, to a certain extent of course.

The law is not accounting.

@Wakanyugi, if you approach creativity in this perspective -then we also have creative accounting.smile
