I am befuddled by this obfuscating vocabulary. Your rain water tank would be useless without a roof to collect the water. And Ndaikaini is a tank that stores water for nairobi. The water needs to be harvested from somewhere before storing in ndakaini. That is what she meant.

They issued a clarification and said that whereas it is raining much in Nrb etc, the same cannot be said of the aberdares where most of the water originates. So far the capacity is at 30% and they are releasing very little water to conserve for the dry months. And that is why they are building the 12 km long, 4 m diameter northern collector tunnel to tap water from 3 rivers (Maragua, Gikigie and Irati) and channel the same and store it in ndakaini....to ensure that the "ndakaini storage tank" always has water for nairobians to use.. In other words, your current roof isnt enough to fill your rainwater tank and therefore you have to connect a pipe to move water from another roof within your homestead to your current tank so that you can have sufficient water all year round.

Now that our media have seemingly nothing to do, why not follow up on this project and see the progress? Surely Nairobians should have no water shortages for the next 5 years with the current rains right?"There are only two emotions in the market, hope & fear. In my opinion. There are people from muranga in the diaspora which is Nairobi and kajiado where the ndakaini waters are destined. Millions of muranga people have migrated to this areas and so together with other Kenyans they should not be left thirsty. Water should be "collected" from their home area and be brought to their door steps in kayole doonholm rongai kawangware kitengela and other areas. Politics is just things to keep the people divided and foolish and put your trust in men and none of them can do nothing for you...

I wish Citizen TV(not K24 because of its association with UMK, & KTN with its association with Mois) would do a followup on this project. We know the dam caused some houses to be flooded did these families get compensation? What is the infrastructure in place so far? By the way I'm thinking it's the one delaying ground breaking as I saw the sewer (" Ruiru Town Sewer System ") is already completed.
