I have avoided posting here for much of the time for the simple reason that by early 2000's I was convinced that the as called 'orthodox economics' was a serious flop. Since that time I've been working on various nascent disciplines like ecological engineering with a view to develop alternative economic models that can be used...

But that's a long story. My attention today has been caught by this article
https://www.theguardian....d-and-buried-where-next

And specifically the four priorities mentioned by the eminent economist. Assuming that indeed these are the key issues, how practicable is it for a country like Kenya to meet the challenges posed?

The model of capitalism is constantly changing due to government policies. There were both liberal and highly regulated models. They will constantly move, so it makes no sense to single out progressive capitalism. It's the only new interpratation that will change along with new government policy...

This is quite true and much of that change these days comes from America, which makes sense. For instance despite paying lip service to the cannon of 'free markets' America remains one of the most regulated economies anywhere, thanks to Government policies, mostly crafted after economic crises.

Similarly you can expect if Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren win the election next year another massive round of capitalism reform, akin to the Scadinavian model, will follow. Socialism may even cease to be a dirty word in America. Single payer health care already did and very quickly.
