Don't think he will be as powerful as the late Bob...could just be merely ceremonial to excite locals where as all decisions lie with Vodafone UK I hope sane Kenyans are not excited about this and judging from reactions all over, everyone understands safaricom future looks stormy. The proverbial guard is down and at the helm we most likely have a puppet who is good only at marketing and selling beer. GoK already leading 1-0 after getting their way with a Kenyan CEO they have salivated for. You can only expect many more goals to come for the goons due to arm twisting and under the table deals we wont know about till its too late. We must realise safaricom have lost the first battle here and this appointment was not purely on merit, the man (as good as he may be) has no experience in this field and is here to be someones pawn. Anyways, the stock price should speak for itself. Expectations tommorrow? Also, catch micheal joseph on citizen @9pm today. (If i remember correctly he sold his entire stake - maybe he can tell us why now?)

How many shares is Peter Ndewa holding in Safaricom? Safaricom being headed by a Kenyan may sink MSC, KQ and Uchumi style et al. John 5:17 But Jesus replied, “My Father is always working, and so am I.”

Theyre calling the shots already and interfering. Ndegwa may be a good man but if he is going to be the governments puppet safaricom is doomed in matters such as mpesa split. Hope vodafone have thought this through but on citizen MJ looked like a man who has lost hope in this company and now it is a state run entity which all go down.

Tuseme ukweli, this guy is guaranteed to be on the 2027 ballot box. The only question is whether it will be at governor level or president level

Dude (Peter Ndegwa) has his future, reputation & legacy to think about. He operates at his own level and would want to move on to other jobs after this not only for money/salary but self actualization. I don't think he will f@€k this up! Vodafone is also still in the picture... Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Even with Ndegwa as CEO, Michael Joseph is still on the board. That alone is enough confidence for me. If he's the man behind Senetor Keg he can steer Safaricom to greater heights. Seems like those who were waiting for it to go down today after the announcement are really disappointed. As I said earlier 30/- by the end of OCT is very possible.
