Ethiopia airlines group would consider buying a stake in south African airways should south Africa decide to sell equity in the struggling state carrier

Crazy idea.. The Ethiopians imagine that ZA lacks bailout funds. A flag carrier owned by a foreign state? Bure kabisa

Isn't SwissAir is owned by Lufthansa?

Ethiopia is opening up,south African companies will be interested in setting shop there.
Ethiopia might use this as a bargaining opportunity.

Europe is more like one country! Africa on the other hand has national pride matters to be recognized. Imagine KQ being owed by the Ethiopians! My heart would falter at such a prospect

KLM which is Netherlands flag carrier owns a significant stake in KQ, your heart should have faltered a long time ago, and this is exactly the same thing Ethiopians are looking to do with the SA airline

Routine

This is because of the problems that have been detected on this particular type of aircraft. The directive may lead to some planes being out of service and therefore result in further losses for the national carrier.

Pulled out of service on NYC route and re-routed to other routes. We know the USA gets petty sometimes
