comes out very nicely and much warmer than tiles

just need to be careful - your furniture should be 'cushioned' at the bottom to avoid scratches on the laminate when moving furniture. you can buy the cushioning bits (i forget the proper name) in the bigger supermarkets. compare prices between kijabe street, downtown and tile and carpet - dont assume.

Good question.
I think Laminate is a bit more expensive? Also, what is the difference between Pergo and Laminate flooring?
Others can confirm. But nothing beats the classy look of a mahogany parquet floor. Use of any other wood (eg blackwood, mvule, blue gum etc) will just be a waste because they do not look as classy.

Very delicate especially with scratching and water damage. Also repairs are a bit complicated compared to mahogany parquet.

-Laminate don’t require varnish etc
-Laminate more expensive
-if you get the level wrong on laminate, you will hear creaking
-I personally think it gives a room a more modern finish than parquet.
-Water damage not an issue

Depends on the quality. Cheap is expensive. Good quality laminate has a lifetime guarantee and is not destroyed by water since it is engineered wood. Enough material online read.

I think I am beginning to get sold on Laminate. Pergo Laminate to be specific.
Definitely gives the floor a more stylish modern, up to date look and you can customize to any color you want.

I settled for Laminate and 6 years later there are no regrets. So far in a house with kids, cats and the usual bustle we have no stains. I think the 'lamination' takes care of that.

I find it warmer than tiles and several of my visitors appreciate it too.
