KCB Rights make their debut in the NSE.
First trades:
Time Price Quantity Board

11:18 1.05 14,200 NORMAL

With clear demand springing for both the share and rights issue...

› KCB-R 1,423,800...1.05________1.65...239,000

where do people like kularaha get their info. both rights issues by kcb were oversubcribed, with the last one bagging eight billion against a target of five.. i will buy anyone, who is willing to bet, a full crate, if this one does not get oversubscribed..

Sober its aint cheap...some of the share holders may nt take up the rights issue stock so the opt to sell them at a premium at the NSE now the ksh1.00 is the premium over n above the rights value...the premium may increase with tym...
Shillings dnt hv sex bt the multiply n divide dependin on their enviroment.

They did so last time around so I expect the same...

I believe you will see a 'foreign' bank or fund like Helios take a position in KCB...

This is an 'easy' way for a huge fund or chinese bank to take a significant stake in KCB... Just buy the Rights!

for one to pay a premium of >ksh1 for a right..is actually buying a KCB share at Kshs18.00...compared to the current price of Kshs18.65 a share that trading for normal share ex rights..

Now, over 9Hundred Thousand rights were traded yesterday... at Kshs 18 (right price plus premium, excluding commission)..am just wondering..those who are buying rights on the market now at a premium..are they so CONVINCED that the KCB share will NOT go lower once their rights are in the cds accounts at end of July?

What is the wisdom behind spending a shilling less by buying the trading rights and having to wait the whole month before registrar deposits them under your name..and cds for you to trade..next month..with all uncertainty about market price direction..instead of just buy the ex right share at 18.65 now??

are we so engrossed in dreams n hopes such that we gamble on future than the logical thing to do?
