A friend in the media industry intimated that the other managers at KBC have been against his appointment but with all the politics at KBC, they know he is a political appointment. The guy he replaced was fired late last year and the deputy, who apparently has more than 26 years experience, was overlooked!

obviously the guy with 26yrs experience has never achieved much in 26yrs. i know most of you didn't even know kbc radio existed.

it is normal for people who underachieve consistently to resist any type of changes.

kbc has failed thus far. you can imagine how many of these so called staff would be working there if rupert murdoch was in charge.

congratulations Walter...now fire the seat warmers in that station. give them a reason to say it was a political move.

...what qualifications does Nyambane have...the guy became irrelevant when dictator Moi left power. If I am not wrong, he did not complete his varsity education...I do not wish him 'unwell' but his stint there will be a total failure...

For that dude guy in KCB who worked for 26 years lets put it this way: he has 1 yr experience repeated over 26 times.

@McReggae: Can't vouch for the info but I know how politics can stagnate someone's career. There are people who have worked at KBC for more than 25 years but have never moved upwards career-wise. They only move horizontally! And not only in KBC. Many parastatals have such cases. The deputy was designated to take over when the then RPM was fired. There was no selection process, Nyambs was one day introduced as the new RPM!

SASHA,
What I am looking at is somebody who has been in KBC for 26yrs and the way we have known KBC to be for that long: for him to now face the current challenges in the media industry.....hapana huyo jamaa hawesimek!!!!.....if he was good enough he would have moved for some time not waiting for somebody to retire or be fired for him to realize his ambitions.

Why can't KBC put the job vacancy in the newspapers and then Radio Programmes Managers or any other interested person can apply and the most qualified (or most suited) can get the job at the best remuneration? Nyambane and the employee with '26 years of experience' are free to apply too. That's a fair way to do it.
Set out to correct the world's wrongs and you will most certainly wind up adding to them.
