What Trump is doing to Iran is not fair. As a matter of fact he's been bullying and provoking them into a military confrontation. Unfortunately, Iran being who they are, they are walking right into the trap. Nearly the rest of the world (exempting the Arab-Saudi led axis & Netanyahu) is not okay with Trumps approach - withdrawing from the nuclear deal and the attendant provocations. Who does the US think it is? Some global bully? Can you imagine if it was Iran travelling thousands of kilometers to go fly drones off the coast of Florida? Trump should stop his upus!

US revenge on Iran downing its drone may spark the whole region as Iran may strike ships using the strait to discourage oil shipment.
Iran may as well target any US interest in the gulf to cause more chaos for everyone.
This may be the reason US pulled back the suggestion to strike back to wake up the gulf giant to start throwing stones to everyone especially those harboring US interests.
The best option is to use international law to further pin Iran
We would fear the whole region businesses coming to a halt who depend mostly on imported supplies while they export oil products and re-export businesses due to the peace currently in the region.

 That was just a dummy to test Iran capabilities

Trump is a coward....
. I even doubt he ordered for retaliatory attacks {what would he have been retaliating against yet that drone plus the P8 manned craft were in Iran territory? How I wish the P8 was also blown off}

I have no idea what Trump expects Iran to do.
What is the problem with Iran and its Nuclear Program?
The major powers in the world including Iran, USA, UK, EU, Russia, China etc.signed an agreement that prohibits Iran from producing a Nuclear bomb.
The International agency, that is responsible for monitoring this has constantly confirmed that Iran is abiding by the agreement.
Trump, for no reason pulls out of it. Why ? Because it was done by the Obama. And Trump wants to cancel everything that Obama did.
Don't forget that he pulled out of the Paris Climate Agreement for the same reason.
Now, he has slammed MAXIMUM sanctions on Iran. They can't trade with anyone !!!
They can't even sell their oil, which is their MAJOR revenue to anyone.
What do you expect Iran to do. They are like a wounded tiger.
They have to respond, even if it means war.
The whole thing is not not helped by the the fact that Israel, Saudi Arabia, UAE etc. want a regime change in Iran.
Sad, very VERY SAD.

United Arab Emirates - 97,800 8. Russia - 80,000 9. Libya - 48,363 10.United States - 39,230 The oil reserves of Venezuela and Canada (1&3) are hard to extract oil sands. The west already has its fingers in Saudi, Iraq, Kuwait, UAE and Libya (2, 5, 6, 7, 9). Russia (8) is out of question. Now you know why an invasion of Iran is inevitable. Life is short. AND, the US invaded Iraq & Libya on false information.
In the case of Iraq it was that Saddam had weapons of MASS destruction.
Nothing was found.
They even linked Saddam to the 9/11 bombing. How????
The people involved in 9/11 were Saudis, Egyptians and Jordanians .
All these are US allies.
They also tried to link Saddam to Osama bin Landon.!!!!!
There is NO way that Saddam & Osama could be friends.
I visited Baghdad about 2 years before the US attack.
It was a great place. They had bars, night clubs with belly dancers etc.
Nothing like what Osama was preaching.
Now, the US has left both countries in shambles.
Criminal.
