I am reading these two families were locked at kakamega police station overnight after fighting.
Nobody was mature enough to work out possible scenarios and the consequences thereof.
The last one month should have been spent preparing the families for the DNA results.
And why wouldn't someone inform the OCS the matter required a level of intelligence to resolve. Locking them up in a police station overnight is extremely dumb but that is what police are trained to do. "Counselling is not under the penal code".

Did you watch the full interview on media? They had psychological assistance even worked with the Ministry of Education to cancel their sitting of exams this year. Problem is Psychological help is never instant. They have to grow into this new development. If the 3 girls are in Kachmeka, it is understandable that the mother in Nairobi feels like she's being robbed of a child, hence her decision to travel. Unfortunately, her gal may not want to live with her...she has grown up with what looks like a loving family and apart from that, she has always been a twin...its hard for her to detach her self from 1, Her supposed sister, then 2 her family. 1 Kings 3:16-28
Solomon Makes a Difficult Decision
16 One day two women[a] came to King Solomon, 17 and one of them said:
Your Majesty, this woman and I live in the same house. Not long ago my baby was born at home, 18 and three days later her baby was born. Nobody else was there with us.
19 One night while we were all asleep, she rolled over on her baby, and he died. 20 Then while I was still asleep, she got up and took my son out of my bed. She put him in her bed, then she put her dead baby next to me.
21 In the morning when I got up to feed my son, I saw that he was dead. But when I looked at him in the light, I knew he wasn’t my son.
22 “No!” the other woman shouted. “He was your son. My baby is alive!”
“The dead baby is yours,” the first woman yelled. “Mine is alive!”
They argued back and forth in front of Solomon, 23 until finally he said, “Both of you say this live baby is yours. 24 Someone bring me a sword.”
A sword was brought, and Solomon ordered, 25 “Cut the baby in half! That way each of you can have part of him.”
26 “Please don’t kill my son,” the baby’s mother screamed. “Your Majesty, I love him very much, but give him to her. Just don’t kill him.”
The other woman shouted, “Go ahead and cut him in half. Then neither of us will have the baby.”
27 Solomon said, “Don’t kill the baby.” Then he pointed to the first woman, “She is his real mother. Give the baby to her.”
28 Everyone in Israel was amazed when they heard how Solomon had made his decision. They realized that God had given him wisdom to judge fairly.

Given the psychological strain that will arise from this issue I would recommend:- I.The girls be taken to a boarding school and yes back in form 3 to start a new school journey.All to go to the same school.KK community should support this girls to a good private school. 2.Mama Mevis to consider moving to KK so that she can be close to her daughter.Both mums should be allowed to stay with the girls at different times. 3.The larger families and traditions should be allowed to guide this reunion. 4.The mothers need alot of counselling that is not a one day affair.The fathers should also come back home to their daughters. Meanwhile,young men esp from KK should be kept of this girls otherwise they will be pagged very soon. Love is beautiful and so are those who share it.With Love, Marriage is an amazing event in ones life time, the foundation of joy, happiness and success.

Surely, this mother should sacrifice and move to Kakamega. Maybe being closer to the girl will enable a relationship that will warm the girl to the mother. The other woman will not help.
