Hello guys, what kind of power converter/transformer would I need for a steam iron that's rated 1600 watts and is for use with a 110v/60 hz socket outlet? Where do I get it, what are the prices and which is the best?

You will find them on Luthuli avenue especially near the Sheikh Karume junction (or is it called Munyu road? Cant remember). There is variety ranging from 1K to 6K (200-5000 watts).

Power gurus, I have a sollatek AVS 30 amps, problem is it trips very often with a high voltage indication, I adjusted the triping point for high voltage from 250 volts to 260 volts, it stopped tripping but I am uncomfortable about the 260 defeating the purpose of the AVS and frying my electronics, what is the safe voltage range for common household electronics like AC, washing machine, TV etc.
Note I have other equipment not on the AVS but works fine even when AVS indicates high voltage.
