They should be forced to have quarterly reports

I would agree to some extent but as it is, the gaament does not have full control over who becomes a board. Even then, the current gaament appointed board members at Mumias are totally clueless and are partly to blame for the mess there. I still hold that Western politicians would have saved MSc, unfortunately, they speak not one language while a majority are deep in the pockets of Rai.... This being the case and it's well known by Uhuru, who is he to care?

You mean kabras is the reason for downfall of mumias?

Not just Mumias, virtually all state owned sugar industries and all this is the work of that crook Rai. It's also not a secret Tha arap ma~land is no far from there. To what end and how did Rai do it? For starters, almost all sugar mills have their own nucleus estate. It was a prerequisite to have own estate before establishing a factory. Besides the estate, the various firms had contracted farmers around their mills and areas were zoned in a way to avoid conflict between mills. The sugar mills had contracts with the farmers but somewhere along, zoning was scrapped and Rai with his deep pockets invaded contracted farmers with cash. The poor farmers trashed the contracts and sold their cane to Rai. Today, farmers owe government owned mills several billions in unfulfilled contracts. Besides, the canny Rai did not stop there. He has established mills around gaament owned mills with a view of killing them off and then buy their estates and mills for a song. This besides establishing weigh bridges and cane buying centre's at the doorsteps of gaament owned mills. The script is so well done that I highly doubt any of the mills will survive that mukora onslaught. It's Panpaper season 2.

@Njunge: From your rants, it seems the fault lies with those who break their contracts.
If a farmer has signed up with a sugarcane processing firm then both parties should fulfill their end of the contract.

So who did not do so?

How so?
If a farmer and sugarcane processor willingly enter into an arms-length contract then both have obligations to each other.

You are theoretically right, but your reasoning makes one wonder at the fact that you occupy the same universe as those farmers, obligations notwithstanding

Well, unless we are characters in Marvel's Multiverse, here we are in the same universe.
Please enlighten us. Your mysterious Dr. Strange answer was rather cryptic.

Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Kahawa Tungu?
I don't care if the Rais buys it as long as it's a fair price and Mumias stops becoming a leech on Taxpayers.
Of course, I would not want to see sugar imports banned to support the Rais either!

This sweet counter is getting bitter as the days grow old.

When it was trading @49.00 it appeared nice. Then what happened and who should be held accountable?

The shareholders (owners), farmers, suppliers etc are all asking, " What happened?". I don't know.

Imagine, no one is willing to take give a concrete answer to that bit of question.

I once heard Kimunya say "stock market is NOT a fish market." Someone find him for a refresher interview of the same.

It's excellent the panic Oparanya has caused. I was lucky to load a few at 0.27. Excellent Price.

More on offer at 30 cents. You should keep on bidding at 27 cents. Conviction.
