After a gruelling two hours the man can still afford a smile and looks like he was just from a morning jog

This guy trains so hard, race day is actually the easy day. Look for videos of Kipchoge training on Youtube. He trains at altitude of above 2400 metres almost all round so when he runs in London ni kama mchezo.

Mo Farah.... Tycho usinichekeshe...Look at his personal best times against Kipchoges.. he never stood a chance. In the marathon he is nowhere near Kipchoge. Even in his most celebrated events, the 5,000 and 10,000m he was very lucky to be running after Kenenisa Bekele had retired or was on his way out of track racing. Mo Farah's fastest time in 5000m is the 33rd fastest time ever ran. His best 10,000m time in number 16. Paul Tergat had better 5000m, 10000m and marathon times than Mo Farah.

GOAT and it’s not even close. I very seriously think this guy will run under 2 minutes in Berlin later this year. Maybe am delusional but if anybody is even remotely capable of achieving this elusive feat, it’s this guy. Look at me being greedy, instead of enjoying the wins am already asking for a superhuman performance next outing. Lol. But he brought it on himself, you spoil us with big wins that look like they come easy for you and we expect more. Sub 2 minutes is what we want now. We won’t accept less. smile

Liked the way he out 'ran' the 3 Ethiopians especially at around 1 hour 53 - 55 minutes, buggers just gave up. He will do under 2 hours 1 minute soon.

Any reason why Berlin has been the place to break the Marathon world record over the last 10 or so years?

The Berlin course is flat and has way fewer corners than the other major city marathons. Plus there is never any headwind to face in Berlin and the weather is almost always ideal being in September which is fall season, best weather for running a marathon. There is also speculation that since majority of Berlin course is asphalt, marathoners tend to run faster there as opposed to Boston, London and New York courses which are mostly concrete. Don’t know how true that theory is though but it might hold some water.

By the way, we don’t want 2:01, we want 1:59. We want something that will be transcendent.

Kipchoge was already very talented before Nike Breaking 2.

Nike Breaking 2 brought the science to his runs.

How can you be so great and yet so humble?

I don't think people know just how great Kipchoge is.

Of the 30 fastest marathon times ever ran, Kipchoge holds 7 of those times!!!!!!

Since 2015 he has ran the fastest marathon in the world for each of those years except in 2016 when he was second to Kenenisa Bekele.

This is the time you wish Samwel Wanjiru was Alive. He is the only other runner who could have pushed Eliud Kipchoge....

At this point what i would fear most is Kipchoge having a white trainer, am sure at some point they are the ones who expose our athletes to these drugs then ask WADA for tests. I always look at most developed world athletes who always report that they are usng this and that drugs for sickness yet it is the same drugs that our athletes are banned for

According to experts, about 60 to 80 % of Olympic medalists are doping.

Europeans like Mo Farah have access to Doctors and other experts who help them beat the dope testers using elaborate techniques like micro-dosing. Mo Farah's coach is Albert Salazar who is known for pushing the envelope.

Kenyans are being caught in large numbers because their doping is rudimentary and incapable of fooling a tester.

And Ethiopia apparently does not even have a legit dope testing regime. Some like Genzebe Dibaba are obviously doping.

You are right. Its just that in 2016 his fastest time was the London marathon win with a time of 2:03:05 while Kenenisa won the Berlin Marathon with a time of 2:03:03. So Kenenisa Bekele's was the fastest time of the year while Kipchoge's was the second fastest of the year.
