Interesting trading book +209%...huge bet which could go wrong if yields start rising...but they can always manipulate auctions...run rate should pick up in 2019...

This is way better and hope ABSA Kenya will re-think its customers to be fully inclusive with the death of colonial parents.
I can see in future a merge with HSBC as China grows in Africa.

Parent Company ABSA should let Barclays do regional expansion within east africa like the opportunity to open an operation in Ethiopia

I guess you are talking about an acquisition of ABSA by HSBC.
Barclays might make a comeback when they see prospects have improved.Barclays PLC still own a 15% stake in ABSA africa
