Chesang’, 45, was gunned down in his Moke Gardens home in Lukenya, Machakos county, on Sunday. The killers first kidnapped two guards at the main gate of the estate.
They demanded to be shown the lawyer’s house. When one of the guards refused to cooperate, his elbow was smashed with the butt of an AK-47 gun.
The police said the lawyer was involved in many land transactions. This is one of the leads they are pursuing. It could be the source of his death, they said. The deceased had returned to his matrimonial house in Moke Gardens, Lukenya, Machakos county, a few weeks before he met his death. He only landed the chance to occupy the house after his widow Maisy Omungala, a magistrate, was transferred to Nyeri in December.
In case number 47 of 2018 filed for protection against domestic violence, Chesang’ alleged that he had been forced to move out of his house because his wife was violent and was using police officers to harass and intimidate him.
He also asked the court to allow him access to his two vehicles; Lexus and Premio cars, which he claimed were being used by police officers.
“I pray that the court orders police and other judicial officers to stop being used by wife to harass and intimidate me; and to stop using my cars as if they are state property,” Chesang’ submitted.

What a loyal guard!.refusing to show the thugs the house as he takes home a paltry salary... hence gets his elbow crashed.If I was the guard I would quickly give the gangsters what they want....why risk your life yet you're a dot in the whole thing?

Yaani Uhuru makes one appointment of Kinoti and the DCI roars back to life as the one institution that can take on the hitherto untouchables !!!! Had it been Muhoro's time, 10M bribe and the case disappears.
Anyone who has read crime fiction knows criminals always get caught because of one mistake; they assume they are smarter than they actually are.
A former NIS guy organizes the hit, recruits rogue cops and tells them they are going to kill a criminal. They were not expecting to be up against a renewed DCI with officers who gather and analyze evidence methodically. During Muhoro's time, they could just have arrested a known criminal in Kayole, execute him and plant the killer gun on them. Case closed.
Aren't we lucky to be living in this Kenya ?

Uhuru has done well with his security sector reforms from Boinet, Haji, Kinoti. This will be his major legacy. DCI is slowly regaining its former glory. Our judiciary is where the rotten apples are still left. I have also noticed a trend where suspects are now coming out clean and telling investigators on the ring leaders without the torture that used to be prevalent. Criminals will now be deterred knowing there is no honor among kiriminos.
