Touba Touba

Touba is like Mecca. It is the home of the Bamba brotherhood and many people go there from all part s of West Africa for pilgrimage.

How many highrise buldings do you see on that pic?

Most African cities that have 500,000 people don't have highrise buildings unless they are the commercial capital.
In fact in many countries, it is typically only the commercial capital that has high-rise buildings.

But the fact that it has no highrise buildings does not mean it is like Ngong as you claimed.

I was referring to Kaolack. Touba iko na wanyewe. The holy city of Mouridism and dominated by Islamic traditions

They have the best shawarma i have ever eaten. I think its their cattle. Their meat is delicious. They take the meat from the spit and fry it on a hot plate with onions and capsicums. Halafu wanaweka chips na nyama on a naan and roll it up. Unateremusha na coca.smile You wont eat again the whole day.

Knock hard and it will be opened. Ask and you will be answered. Seek and you shall find.

I know Senegal primarily for its music. They produced:

Youssou N'Dour
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqCpjFMvz-k
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLrE0ZkbZfs

Ismael Lo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOfm9WRFRxA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlqXmlrvHv8
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VxRvslyMjw

Baaba Maal
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzU_CUK1VKk

West Africa has some of the best Afro-Folk music on the continent. Mali and Ivory Coast are among others that got some great music too.

In Kenya, the closest that I got to that sweet African Folk music was through Ayub Ogada (RIP), passed this past Friday, not long after Zimbabwe's biggest Oliver Mtukudzi

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0Jwf-Y1uww
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMyKA5mUhHc

In Uganda, they got Geoffrey Oryema:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZs5eAljqLQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OR6Abd_Rp7k

Sweet African Folk music is my fav type of music, have to comb through artists in different countries to find gems, because such music does not get played anywhere. Got to find music that you like for yourself.

Also know Senegal for sports (Football, Surfing & Senegalese wrestling https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q21lQAXABP8).

I think that they are one of the nations that are still under French colonial rule. They use a currency given to them by the French.

There was a confrontation between France and Italy after Italy accused France of colonialism.

https://www.thenational....colonial-jibes-1.816507

""If people are leaving today it's because European countries, France above all, have never stopped colonising dozens of African countries."

“The EU should sanction France and all countries like France that impoverish Africa and make these people leave, because Africans should be in Africa, not at the bottom of the Mediterranean.”

"Mr Di Maio refused to back down on Monday, saying the CFA Franc, a colonial-era currency used by 14 African countries and guaranteed by the French Treasury, was an exploitative tool."

"France is one of those countries that, by printing money for 14 African states, prevents their economic development and contributes to the fact that the refugees leave and then die in the sea or arrive on our coasts,"

"If Europe wants to be brave, it must have the courage to confront the issue of decolonisation in Africa."

"Relations between Italy's coalition government, which includes right-wing Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, and France, have been strained over clashes about migration and Europe.

Both sides accused the other of failing to take their fair share of people rescued from the Mediterranean Sea ever since Italy's anti-migration government came into power last June."

I didn't try chicken. never crossed my mind. I afraid of eating chicken meat after doing some chicken farming. The feed additives are not good for a mans body.

Wacha hizo. Wolof lingua franca of Senegal and part of west Africa. Like kiswahili here in east Africa. I didnt swim. The water was cold. I was there late august. Goree is a sad place. Slavery was not a good thing anywhere in Africa. I noticed the islanders though were a proud people from my interactions with a guide- a respectable looking educated man and others. But i can say the art and crafts in Senegal are impressive.

Goree has nice places besides the house of slaves. My favorite was the giant canons at the top and the old catholic church.

Shame on you Shame on you Shame on you Shame on you . Thats a one man show country. The big man holds a tight grip.

Maybe we need a dictator who will change the current system that benefits only thieves, politicians and other criminals

What do you do with yourselves after the dictator exits the scene. We need democracy no matter how messy or frustrating it is. You will rue the day Kagame is no longer the strongman.

Chances of President Macky Sall being reelected this coming Sunday, (24.2.2019).
Single term and what he has done is clearly seen and felt by common Senegalese population.
Africa is rising.Applause
