hey guys, been on sk/wazua for quite some time and all this while, i've always hesitated to ask for your advice on trading while still in school. what are the chances of doing well, if any, and what steps and actions would you recommend apart from participating in the "Inter university Investment Challenge".

Being in UNI for me means, not having chunks of ready cash to buy into companies. It alo means little or no knowledge at all about stock transactions.
I got the interest though.

I welcome any ideas, of how one can start humble.

Forget safaricom . That a tooooooooo löng term strategy. What you want is quick cash . And thats what i'll help you get. Since you never got into co-op and i dnt knw why you can jump into KQ quickly. To be on the safe side wait for the uptrend confirmation kesho. As we talk i hope u hav a CDS a/c if you dnt please log off wazua and never come back, lol.

@webish as a student your money is short, so you look at the lower priced shares mostly below sh 20. Choose value and avoid the cheap and worthless. Good buys are kenol, centum and safcom. Shares like unga and sasini, though not great companies are fairly priced and will give good returns in the medium term. Avoid highly speculative shares like access, scan, co-op(at current price) or you will burn your fingers and swear never to buy shares again. Don't touch the likes of everready, sameer, orchards, olympia unless you want to lose money.
Life is short. Live passionately.

@webish. I agree with @sparky. Keep your eye on centium by the way . I also like kenolkobil . There is a tendancy for stocks with splits to perform well inthe short term. Atleast thats what a study in the us showed. And dnt dare take a loan to buy stock . I knw u might be tempted. You have been fore warned.

@webish. U missd Equity rally , scan group rally and now co-op rally and so many others. The best you can do is to have mercy on urself and gang up with some guys , pull your finances and buy shares. DNT WASTE TIME. I hope u'llnt miss KQ up swing.
