Jguru-good insight. Kakuzi is a well-managed British farm like Delamere in its hey-days. From what you have said the management prefers to adapt to the changing circumstance- cutting coffee bushes to plant trees(maturity maybe 5 years), selling off farm land for real estate(still on the table). They have recently move to horticultural farming, cut staff costs-a change in strategy. Looks to me like a muddled strategy, changing the MD/CEO, lack of a clear chain of command. The management looks pretty frustrated with the current agricultural policies.

ws, There is value but Hmm...All said I would pay 40/- per share for Kakuzi-my opinion

The CEO (Board) are (mostly) mzungus... I think the jamaa referred to by @jguru is the FD or senior finance guy who @jguru met coz of an audit.

@mm - Dude... there is no muddled strategy... lakini for u I wud advise... stay away... this is not for you!

I wonder if Safaricom will b considered 'muddled' by @mm when MJ leaves coz he retires?

I have the Annual Report for 2008 but the 2009 is also out (I dont have it)... Anyway, look out for 1H 2010 results by 30 Sep 2010...

Thanx vvs... a guy from C&R Services read this thread and managed to spare me the Annual reports.

my thoughts on the above still stand...as in price upped on basis of emotion and speculation at that time... fortunately fundamental projections punned out..

BTW, Kakuzi also paid off most of their debt/loans coz of high tea prices = cashflow in 2009...
