@mugunda, Je! Yesu alienda kanisa kuimba? You will realize that Jesus (peace be upon him) never sang songs of praises to God in synagogue (in swahili msikiti). David (peace be upon him) pekee ndiye aliruhusiwa kuimba. Amos (peace be upon him) alikuja kuondoa mambo ya kuimbia Mwenyezi Mungu.

Can we engage here regarding these praise and worship frenzies? Let us use religious authorities please, Bible and the Quran where necessary... No abuses and matusis please. Only mature responses if you are up for the challenge. Otherwise, say you do not want to engage and I will leave it...

Psalm 33:1-3
Sing for joy in the LORD, O you righteous ones; Praise is becoming to the upright. Give thanks to the LORD with the lyre; Sing praises to Him with a harp of ten strings. Sing to Him a new song; Play skillfully with a shout of joy.

Only David (peace be upon him) was allowed to sing. In fact, Amos (peace be upon him) came to remove singing to Almighty God.

Amos 5:23 Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols (Niondoleeni kelele za nyimbo zenu! Sitasikiliza sauti za vinubi vyenu)

Amos 6:5 That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of music, like David (Ninyi mnaopigapiga vinanda ovyo kwa nguvu na kujifanya wapiga vinubi kama mfalme Daudi huku mkitunga nyimbo papo hapo)

Ezekiel 26:13 And I will cause the noise of thy songs to cease; and the sound of thy harps shall be no more heard (Nitakomesha kelele za nyimbo zako, na uimbaji wako wa kinubi kamwe hautasikika tena)

I know it's not Sunday but here's something important you should try that will make reading the Bible more interesting and most meaningful to your life: Read the Bible on areas that you struggle with in your life. You will get a clear path to your solution. Reading it like Bible study or a story book will only lead to frustration and abandonment. That comes later. Start by reading to look for solutions and you will experience the power within the Bible.
(oh, eg if your challenge is being rich then look for what's holding you back from being rich but don't treasure-hunt since riches are an already fulfilled promise from the day God created us and made us rulers over all).

BBI will solve it

Nothing beats those old time classics.

Pagans, Satanists, agnostics, atheists etc please leave this thread. I do not understand why you are so interested in our songs and hymns yet you never start your own threads where you can debate about your Satanic beliefs against the Bibleand Christ ad nauseum. Your verbiage hapa will not change anyone's mind about anything so why waste your own time and ours? Laughing out loudly

(Jesus speaking):

No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. -- Matthew 6: 24

Then (Jesus) said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions." -- Luke 12:15

Contradicting yourself every time you post. First you trashing Old Testament, then next minute you are using it to justify your music?
