Kenya Power data show electricity consumption in the city in the year to June dropped to 3.83 billion kilowatt hours (kWh) from 3.913 billion in similar period a year earlier, pulled down by large commercial users and domestic consumers. What about the one for the domestic customers In Nairobi, distribution losses are highest in households , especially slums.This slump in units consumed is not actual, its just because it wasn't metered. Losses. All large power customers are connected to smart meters with minimal possible chances of stealing electricity

New completions of construction can be used as a proxy for growth, but not fully. The units may be unoccuppied, users may be using alternatives for energy (eg solar for heating) and industrial firms may have cut back significantly on consumption.
