Since the dad was a rebel leader based in the mountains of eastern DRC and an enemy of the state and mobutu, Kabila Jnr was raised in TZ and went to primary and high school in TZ, then makerere university. That's why his kiswahili and english are very good unlike his french and lingala. The kabilas are baluba, a tribe in eastern congo who also speak kiswahili.
