Some Kikuyus like myself desperately want this man to be president. He might be the only reason that I will wake up to vote for the first time ever in Kenya.

What if UK and Baba say Kibwana tosha? Would that make any difference?

Baba has one more bullet for himself and I doubt he would waste it on Kibwana.

One of Baba's most enduring legacies was when he said Kibaki Tosha. I have a feeling Baba likes to be loved more than he likes power. Just imagine Baba's stature if he ever said Kibwana tosha and Kibwana got elected. Baba would achieve sainthood....wachana na safi kama pamba....this gesture would elevate him to an immortal god like stature which would last forever.... one that he could never lose in an election. He would love it.

Hawesmake. Sadly, the top job in Kenya is not structured for someone like him to win

BBI will solve it

The 2022 poll will be different from all other polls because for the first time in the history of Kenyan politics we will have candidates with independent executive experience.

Previously the most any presidential candidate had to offer was to refer to their ministerial experience.
You may have been in charge of a ministry but you were under the president. For the first time we will have retiring Governors with solid verifiable executive credentials. In the absence of such credentials in the past the candidates had to rely on their oratory and entertainment skills and tribal kinship.

You are right when you say that Kenyan politics is not structured for someone like Kibwana to win but I would add a qualifier, Kenyan politics BEFORE 2022. There is a new element that will be introduced in the 2022 that was not there before and I have reason to believe will make a difference.

For the first time we will get a contest between: "I contributed 10 million to build this church" and "I used 135 million tax payer money to build and equip this hospital." In all previous contests only the first option was available.

I don't think there is any part of Kenya where people have heard about the hospital and not found it impressive.

Rao will be running in '22, take that to the bank. If he wasn't contemplating to run, he would have stated so by now. His desire to lead this country is so overwhelming nothing else matters. That's why last year when he felt his 'last chance' is gone, he had to 'swear' himself in. But like all humans, you can bet he found no satisfaction in the 'self swearing'.

I would personally vote for Kibwana or Matiangi. If they were to join forces, they would definitely be a force to recon with. We need people who perform, and have the guts to remove non performers as well as squeeze the nuts of the thugs in government. The current political class can keep their emotional smalltalks for days that matter. Like valentines and Christmas.
