Rift Valley Mpigs now say Ruto is behind maize cartels. They want him probed. Eti mashamba has also acquired 500,000 acres in congo so as to be main supplier of maize to NCPB. They have asked him to forget 2022.

Quote:
Keter said they had decided to tell the truth about the maize scam, adding that only President Uhuru Kenyatta would be able to save farmers. He linked Ruto and his allies to the cartels that had been messing up the sector.

"We want to tell the DP that we know the problems and cartels frustrating farmers are directly linked to him and his office. That’s why we want all leaders probed. We are also ready to be probed," the outspoken lawmaker said.

The leaders said the DP recently visited Congo Brazzaville for more than a week where he allegedly planned to start maize farming on 500,000 acres. The maize would be imported into the country, further frustrating local farmers, they said.

Tiren warned those who were involved in the maize scandal to brace themselves for life in jail. “The DP should be investigated. Why doesn’t he want to come and help farmers and why doesn’t he want to listen to us? If there are cartels, the President has ordered for a lifestyle audit,” he said.

“Let the audit begin right from the President himself, just as he said, then to the DP and all the way down, including me.”

Rift Valley residents and Kenyans in general are not interested in numerous harambees by Ruto’s team while farmers and poor Kenyans suffer, the MPs said.

Who wants to bet, either they will be acquitted, rearestted... etc or they'll still be attending court past 2022... by which, the case is as good as dead unless baba wins maybe...

I'm not optimistic at all. These economic crimes are to me, the easiest to solve because you have the money trail and records of transactions which either make sense or not. Eg, you cannot logically or miraculously harvest a certain number of bags of maize from a certain acreage. I just don't get??

BBI will solve it

Baba was also implicated in the maize scandal one plus several energy dealings. We already know what ails us. A deeply corrupt public service and a wakora network of judges. Maybe a mzungu judge may be our only help now.

But no solution will come from politicians - lets not lie to ourselves. We need strong institutions that will thrive beyond people

All I know is that we need a change, someone to clean up. Rao of today is different from rao of yesteryears, all things remaining constant he has my vote

I agree. Politics cannot solve this because they are the foundation of corruption. Only angry taxpayers can sort this mess. When they get angry enough.
When you realize your hard earned money has gone to pay and line someone's pockets for delivering air yet you are paying school fees for your kids with high interest loans and your tax deductions would have been enough... then maybe you'll get angry enough.

BBI will solve it

You don't get why Kenya is corrupt and has been very corrupt for the past 55 years ???

For starters corruption begins at the very top. All Kenyan presidents have built their fortune on corruption. How do you expect them to fix corruption if they are the primary culprits? Al corruption happens with their blessing.

If you are a reformer or if you insist on doing the right thing, you might be assassinated or detained without trial or fired.

Look at all the political assassinations in Kenya's history. See Msando. See James Karanja et al.

Look at all the people detained without trial. All were people who threatened to expose corruption or stop corruption. None of these events were ever properly investigated.

On the other hand, the most notorious thieves are re-appointed, re-elected and praised. Its a dysfunctional culture.

Kenyan story is tough and almost feels hopeless

i wonder how Ethiopia has suddenly found itself in almost some sort of revolution? The new Prime Minister seems to be able to do incredible things that are so good for the country? is it him as an individual or not?

The problem with Kenya is that these people are placed strategically by the big men to hog the money for them. So they will always be protected from above.

Only those who eat for themselves will go to jail
